I am now testing a program called HideMyIp2007. It is in a 3 day trial, but I have proven it a little by going to verious search engines online that maintain a list of words searched for. ( Dogpile keeps a running list of your searches that I have not figured out how to remove, I even called them at infoseak and spoke to customer service and left a message for their tech support folks, but they never bothered to get back with me, so I suggest never using them unless you are going to use an IP hiding program) I have now tried to use the HideMyIP2007 on dogpile and sure enough when the IP is changed there is no record of searches on their site. So so far at least I would have to recomend this program. I will post a link to it once my trial is up if I think it is worth it.

proxy-list.org is the site I use to browse the web anonymously. Go there and type the security letters to enter the site. Then under proxy type, choose elite. This is the only proxy server that is truly anonymous. Transparent proxies allow other websites to see your real ip. So called "anonymous" proxies allow websites to know that you are using a proxy, but they can't see your real ip address. I have heard that some anonymous proxies do allow websites to see your address. Elite proxies are the only ones that don't let websites see your real ip and they don't know that your using a proxy. This makes it more likely that you won't be refused access to a site because you're using a proxy. The only problem with an elite proxy is that the latency can be kind of slow. This makes webpages load slower. I generally only use proxies when I'm researching something that the government might not want me to know. As a test, you can google "whats my ip" and whole list of sites will come up that tell you what your ip is. Click one and it should give you the ip of the proxy server if you did it right. If you want to try this but can't figure out how to use the proxy email me at david.johnston1@gmail.com and I can give you detailed instructions on how to make it work.
